HOW DOES IT WORK.

In just a few steps, turn your 3D geometry into a high-fidelity aerodynamic analysis — no CFD experience required.

YOUR INPUT

The only information needed is your 3D sailing plan and the sailing conditions you want to investigate. The rest is just one click away from the CFD results.

GEOMETRY

We check, clean and configure your 3D geometry following the sailing conditions you supply. If hull and boom are not provided by you directly, you can still choose to use the ones in our library, and the Aero Sim service will scale and position them correctly. You will be able to check the final geometry before submission.

MESH

The volume of fluid around your sails, mast, boom and hull is divided in small hexaedral cells. At Cape Horn Engineering we know that the difference comes from small details and that is why we will never compromise on mesh size. Our best practices use several million of cells in order to guarantee that any curvature or intersection is computed at the highest level.

RESULTS

Reynolds‑Averaged Navier Stokes Equations are solved on our HPC infrastructure, and you receive—in approximately half an hour—a PDF report with a table of forces and moments, customized flow images, and various post‑processing options.
